The center is now working on removing the items the children may throw and let them go through the tantrum then speak to them. The highchairs are now stored in the office and brought out for each meal then stored away. ...Based on interviews and evidence received staff were using a highchair as form of discipline when children were not staying still or listening while on the red chair. Staff were also recording children while on time out who were having a ‘fit’. This poses a health or safety risk to children in care. 8 Assistant Center director, agreed to conduct a staff training, where all center staff watch a training video on how to support children with behavioral incidents at the center to understand the child’s personal rights.
