Child Care Center Directors Qualifications and Duties: (1) If the child care center director is absent for more than 30 consecutive calendar days, the substitute director shall meet the qualifications of a director. This requirement is not met as evidence by: Based on LPA’s interviews, 5 of 7 staff members stated the previous Director’s last day was 3/3/23. 1 New Director submitted a complete DIrector packet to LPA Valdez Santana on 05/07/23. S1 stepped in as interim director from 3/3/23 until the end of 4/2023. The new Director returned from leave 5/1/23. LPA reviewed S1’s file and S1 did not have the qualifications to act as Interim Director. This poses a potential risk to the safety of the children in care.
