(g) Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, poisons and other items that could pose a danger if readily available to children shall be stored where inaccessible to children. This requirement was not met as evidence by: Director must ensure all items that pose danger to children must be made inaccessible to children in care. Proof of written protocol/policy regarding dangerous items which include hot liquid be made inaccessible to children must be submitted to Licensing by 12/10/2024. Based on self reported incident report, interview and record review, a hot tea tumbler was accessible at the children’s play area resulting in day-care child sustaining burn injury. 8 Director shall submit the following to Licensing by 12/10/2024. 1. Staff Meeting Agenda and Staff Attendance Sheet with Signatures. 2. Revised Employee Handbook specify dangerous items including hot liquid be made inaccessible to children in care.

(a) The licensee shall ensure that each child is accorded the following personal rights: (2) To be accorded safe, healthful and comfortable accommodations, furnishings and equipment to meet his/her needs. 1 The director will conduct an expectations meeting with a particular staff on 11/16/23 and a training on The Proper way to Handle Children with all staff on 11/17/23. Training Material and attendance sheet with staff signatures for the training will be sent to LPA by 11/22/2023. This requirement was not met as evidence based upon the information CCL gathered; a staff lifted a child in an improper way that caused a child's arm injury. It poses a potential health risk to children in care. 8
