The teachers know the nap ratios and know when to notify the director that additional staff is need to support the children in having an alternative activity. getting up to use the restroom, 5 out of 7 staff (S1,S3,S4,S5,S7)confirming they have children lay or sit on their cots during the nap period, the facility did not comply with the section cited above by means of not having comfortable accommodations to children who are not napping in the center during the facility’s rest period which poses a potential personal rights risk to children in care.
(d) The child care center shall operate in accordance with the terms specified in the plan of operation. Based on LPA's video observation on 09/07/2023 and Parent Interview it was determined that the facility was not operating in accordance with the terms specified in the plan of operation 1 The director states that the schedule for the lights will be maintained to help children with routine in each classroom at the designated time. The children will be given additional time to assist them with having their meals but should not exceed more than an hour. by means of turning off lights before the scheduled nap time of 12:30 pm this poses a potential health and personal right risk to children in care. 8
